Under the 2013 Construction Regulations any one undertaking construction needs to be in compliance with these Regulations.

The Client (person building house) needs to appoint Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP) and Project Supervisor Construction Stage, (PSCS) and Health and Safety Co-ordinator. Avenue House Health & Safety Solutions can act as PSDP and Health and Safety Co-ordinator. We can provide you with the necessary advice and documentation to keep you compliant.

Construction Services

A Preliminary Safety and Health Plan is required under the Construction Regulations 2013 at design stage of building. It sets out the hazards and risks inherent in the proposed construction. At the end of the project, the Preliminary Safety and Health Plan is part of the Safety File content requirements. The PSDP provides a Safety File to the client on completion of the project. The Safety File must be kept in situ in the house and opened up again if more construction is taking place. If the house is being sold the safety folder is handed over to the new owner.

Construction Safety and Health Plans are also a requirement of the Construction Regulations 2013 which are drawn up just prior to commencement of project. These also take into account the hazards and risk assessments in the works. This is also a requirement of the Safety File content.

Construction Safety Management System

We provide a construction Safety Management System (Safety Folder) to make the PSCS compliant with the Construction Regulations 2013.

Method Statements

Method statements are required by law and must be site specific. They detail how a contractor will carry out a particular task on site, identifying Hazards & Risk Assessments, being read and signed by those who are employed on the project.

Risk Assessments

Risk Assessments are required by law in all types of Industry. They are used to describe the overall process or method where you identify hazards and risk factors that have the potential to cause harm to the person property or the environment. We carry out risk identification, risk analysis, and risk evaluation on client’s sites.

Site Safety Audits

Architect Plans

We carry out Safety Audits using a structured methodical assessment and evaluation of how work place activities effect safety and health. Conducting a work place safety audit is a comprehensive way for a company to gauge the efficiency, effectiveness and legality of its total health and safety management system. We do both construction and industrial audits.

Letters Of Appointment/Acceptance

Letters of Appointment and Acceptance are a requirement of the Construction Regulations 2013 whereby the client is required to appoint in writing the PSDP and the PSCS for a project. In turn the PSDP and PSCS must accept their roles in writing to the client.

Safety Statements

We provide Safety Statements for small and medium enterprises. This is a company’s safety management system, site specific to your business activities and address. It must be kept up to date with reviews annually.

It contains:

  • Health & Safety Policies
  • Risk Assessments
  • Emergency Procedures
  • Employer Responsibilities
  • Employees Responsibilities
  • Accident Reporting and Investigation
  • Fire Safety
  • Health & Safety Training.

Avenue House Health & Safety Solutions & Michael Brennan have been very helpful in introducing Health & Safety Procedures to our company workings and putting a Safety Management system in place. I would recommend them to other Construction Companies.
